ArteMice® Technology Platform
Based upon the outstanding expertise of its scientific advisors Prof. Klaus Rajewsky, Prof. Rudolf Jaenisch and Prof. Francis Stewart ARTEMIS has developed the proprietary ArteMice® platform, a novel and comprehensive collection of techniques for the rapid and technically superior production of genetically modified mice.
Key-Achievements of the ArteMice® Technology Platform

Over the past six years ArteMice® developments in molecular biology, vector construction, ES cell biology and mouse model availability have contributed to a significant decrease in the time taken to generate genetically modified mouse models. As shown in the figure above, today TaconicArtemis is capable of generating homozygous conditional KO mice, ready for experimental use within 9 months, a fraction of the time required by using standard techniques. In addition RNAi knock down mice can be generated within 4 months.
Additionally, ARTEMIS has developed tools for the conditional modification of gene expression including the CreER Mouse line and ES cells described under ArteMice® CONDITIONAL® and the Cre Recombinase Zoo.
These advances in speed and efficiency of mouse model production as well as in availability of novel and useful tools are resulting in a paradigm switch in the way in which genetically modified mice are being used for drug discovery and research applications in industry and in universities. Our customers are benefiting from the ArteMice® platform by obtaining high mouse in vivo data early in their projects, leading to better research and a higher quality of drug discovery.
