ArteMice
® HUMANIZED™, means the complete replacement of mouse genes with large genomic regions of their human orthologues in one single step. This provides a significant time and efficiency advantage over conventional methods and results in a more physiologically relevant model.
ArteMice® HUMANIZED™ can be combined with ArteMice® CONDITIONAL® approaches resulting in mice, in which the human gene can also be deleted at a time or in a tissue of the investigator's choosing.
Such ArteMice® can be used in the following ways:
- They can provide an in vivo model for drug testing, especially in cases where compound lead series do not cross react with a rodent protein. This can contribute significantly to speeding up such drug discovery programs.
- Subsequent conditional knock out of the protein can provide a base line (100% inhibition level) to allow better interpretation of drug effects.
- They can provide a rodent model to test the efficacy of therapeutic antibodies against human proteins.
- They can provide models for the the testing of ADME properties of compounds, especially in cases where ADME relevant mouse proteins are replaced with their human orthologous.
